NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting -IL is a face-to-face course divided into four parts: Safety; Pistol Knowledge; Shooting Skills; and Maintenance, Selection and Use. Topics include: firearm safety/storage; pistol components/functions; ammunition fundamentals. fundamentals of pistol shooting; shooting positions; shooting errors/malfunctions; selecting pistols, ammunition, and accessories; cleaning/maintenance; and shooting activities. Toward the end of the class each participant will complete a 50-item open-book test. Ohio concealed carry law will be covered during the class, but participants will not be examined on it.
