Intermediate Pistol (CCW 2) is intended for moderately experienced shooters who wish to advance their skill set to the next level. It is a six-hour course that is about 25% classroom and 75% range live fire. This is an intense course for serious shooters. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Ohio Concealed Handgun License (CHL.) Topics covered include: situational awareness, shoot/no shoot, malfunction clearance, drawing from holster, shooting while moving, engaging multiple threats, cover and concealment, and speed drills. Equipment required: semiautomatic pistol (calibers .380 to .45); strong side OWB holster (Blackhawk SERPA holsters prohibited); gun belt; at least three mag holders (belt mounted); eye/ear protection; and at least 300 rounds of factory ammunition.
